First DAGのDiemに対応したソリューション
イスラエルの決済スタートアップであるファースト・ダグ（First DAG）が、同社の小売加盟店がフェイスブックらが開発するステーブルコイン「ディエム（Diem）旧：リブラ（Libra）」を利用できるためのソリューションを構築したことを2月16日に発表した。このソリューションは、アメリカのデジタル資産カストディ企業のファイヤーブロックス（Fireblocks）と共に構築したものだ。
具体的なソリューションのツールとして、API連携のためのツール「The First API Toolkit For Diem」や与信確認、AML審査、ドルとディエムの交換、ディエム・ブロックチェーンとの接続の機能を提供する「First’s Platform」などが明らかになっている。

−様々なステーブルコインのプロジェクトが展開されている中で、なぜディエムのソリューションを開発したのですか？
ラン・ゴルディ：ブロックチェーン業界での3年半の経験の中で、私たちは常にブロックチェーンとデジタル通貨を主流の市場にもたらすことに焦点を当ててきました。
数多くのワークショップを通じて、デジタル通貨が最終的にユーザーの手に渡るようにするために、消費者向けの企業が多大な努力をしていることに気付きました。
同時に、これらの通貨を使ってサービスの支払いを受けようとしている商人やベンダーにはあまり注目されていないことにも気付きました。
これらの取引に関与しているベンダーや加盟店に目を配りながら、私たちは、決済サービスプロバイダ（PSP）、アクワイアラー、eウォレットなどが支払いを受け入れ、保管用ウォレットを維持することで、デェエムのエコシステムに参加できるように支援するプラットフォームを構築することにしました。
世界中には何百万もの加盟店があり、すでにPSPやアクワイアラーと提携して支払いを受け付けています。私たちの使命は、これらの加盟店が支払いを受け入れる方法を提供できるように、プラットフォームを提供することです。
私たちの確固たる信念は、ステーブルコインとCBDCが決済の次のステップであるということです。
そのため、ディエム（旧：Libra）への参入を決めました。Diem協会との最初の話し合いでは、新しい決済システムをどのように構想しているかを話し合いました。
私たちはFacebookの主要なソーシャルメディアプラットフォームを利用した大規模なリーチにより、デジタル通貨が大衆に採用される最高のチャンスだと考えました。つまりそれはFacebook、Instagram、WhatsAppという主要なソーシャルメディアプラットフォームを利用したFacebookの大規模なリーチによるものです。

−With various stablecoin projects being developed, why did you develop a solution for Diem?
Ran Goldi：In our 3.5 year tenure in the blockchain industry, our focus has always been to bring blockchain and digital currencies to the mainstream market.
Through our numerous workshops with association members, we came to realize the enormous efforts made by consumer-facing companies to ensure that these currencies finally come into the hands of the user.
At the same time, we realized there isn’t much focus on the merchants and vendors who will be accepting the payment for their services through these currencies.
With a lookout for the vendors and merchants involved in these transactions, we decided to build a platform that helps PSPs, acquirers, e-wallets, and more to participate in the Diem ecosystem by accepting payments and maintaining a custodial wallet.
There are millions of merchants worldwide who already have a PSP or acquirer they work with that allows them to accept payments. Our mission is to give them a platform so they can offer their merchants a way to accept payments.
Our firm belief is that stablecoins and CBDCs are the next steps in payments.
This is why we decided to get into Diem (formerly Libra). In our initial talks with the Diem Association, we discussed how we envision a new payments system.
We saw Diem as the best chance for a digital currency to be adopted by the masses due to Facebook’s massive reach using its flagship social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
